Pinboard Acquires Delicious Just to Shut It Down
Pinboard has acquired Delicious, a bookmarking site people from the dim and distant past may remember. Or not. Delicious has been a thing since 2003, and it’s still hanging on in there. However, it looks like the end may finally be nigh for this relic of the old-skool interwebs. In 2003, Joshua Schachter launched Delicious as a social bookmarking service designed to let users save and share links. It did this with aplomb, leading Yahoo to acquire it in 2005.
